Attitude is a powerful influence. According to Charles Swindoll’s poem, attitude has a greater influence than education and wealth. Our mindset determines how we respond to others, to situations, problems and work. Most importantly, it determines how we relate in this evil world. “Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God” (Romans 8: 5-7). I can see why folks are defeated and angry at life, they have every problem coming against them and feel like there’s no way out. They have the mindset of the world. This world IS against them. It is against all of us. We are in a constant fight with nature. The only way to fight the battle and ultimately win the war is to have the mindset of Christ. When we accept Christ as Savior, we are adopted as sons and daughters. How much more will our Father in Heaven protect and fight for us? “What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us” (Romans 8:31)? Put on the attitude of Christ and be successful in this evil world. Walk with confidence knowing we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus!
