Now that the shopping season is over and traffic is slowed down we tend to sigh and relax back into our normal everyday routine. The stressfulness of Christmas comes from having to step out of normal routine, go shopping at different stores to find the gift that works for everyone on your list, and have get-togethers with every group you are a part of including family. There’s a stressful energy in the air as people hustle and bustle which is highly contagious. Some folks even work better under stress, I just can’t imagine that.
There are a few times in the Bible where people were told to hurry, they all involve seeing Jesus and telling others they have just seen Him. We should experience the same urgency to tell others about Jesus and how He changes lives. Luke 2:16 “So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger”. When Peter heard that Jesus was not in the tomb, he ran to see for himself. Peter was at that time filled with self-doubt and pity, so to realize that Jesus was TRULY everything He claimed to be and teach, Peter was overwhelmed with joy and peace that comes from knowing Him.
Get in a hurry to share the love of Christ with others. Be in a hurry to learn more about His love and all the promises that He offers for His children.
