We are fighting a war. Not like WWIII, but a daily war since time began. The bad part of this war is that we don’t always see the enemy. We have to learn our enemy so we know how to fight. The Bible tells us what we must do to fight: arm our mind with the Word. Satan met with Jesus and tried to talk him into worldly things. Jesus could have easily sent an angel to zap him dead. While we’d like to beat folks with a hardback Bible, we can’t and shouldn’t. Jesus didn’t and he is our example. God’s Word is a double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). God’s Word is power and we need to use it in battle. When we are in a situation of being afraid, memorize “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?'” (Hebrews 13:6) The best way to find bullets for your mind, is to download “YouVersion” or “Blue Letter Bible” on your smart phone and search key words like fear, doubt, temptation, lust, depression, etc and there will be several verses to become your bullets against the daily and most destructive battle we face.
