Fill Your Arsenal

reload your weapon

We are in a war. Not with teenagers, family members, or the bully at work or school, but with the unseen enemy. Fighting this unseen enemy is difficult and we must be taught how. Thankfully, Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”. Our weapons include every Word inspired by God. Jesus fought the enemy by quoting scripture and that is exactly how we must fight. In order to quote scripture, we must learn it, memorize it, breathe it in and write it on our hearts. God’s Word must become a part of our lives so when the enemy strikes, we can draw our weapon and shoot.

FEAR –

Deuteronomy 31:8 “Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed, I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”

1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in Love but perfect love casts out fear”

Psalm 91:5 “You need not fear the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day”

STRENGTH —

Romans 8:31 “If God is for us who can be against us?”

Romans 8:18 “The pain that you’ve been feeling can’t compare to the joy that’s coming”

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

PEACE –

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”

MERCY –

Titus 3:5 “He saved us not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy”

Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in the time of need”
