Give Me Some Credit!

Everyone wants a little credit on making the right decision, when accomplishing a goal or task, choosing the right path, knowing the direction to travel and especially with finances. One thing about credit is we get it after the fact: After the job is done, after the decision is made, after you already paid a debt. It’s an acknowledgement of a job well done, a pat on the back, and a much needed “Wow, you’re awesome”.

God believes in giving credit in advance. He has promised us His love, peace, mercy and forgiveness, that He will be with us to the end and He has great plans for our lives. Living in real time, we cannot always see the end results of these wonderful blessings and promises. Abraham was promised that he would be the father of all nations. At the time of this amazing promise, he didn’t have a child. His wife just kept laughing because she couldn’t conceive. She tried to hurry and help God along with this promise by having her maid-servant become a surrogate for a child. Abraham, on the other hand, waited patiently and believed that God’s promise would come true. For his unwavering belief and faith, God credited to him righteousness. God gave him credit for having faith! Abraham was able to see the promises of God in his son, Isaac.

God strengthens our faith when we continue to believe His promises. Abraham was so solid on his faith about his only son, Isaac, that he was willing to sacrifice Isaac knowing that God would continue to bless him. Romans 4:23 tells us “the words ‘it was credited to him’ were written not for him, alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness-for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead”.

Get credit added to your life daily by believing God’s promises!
