Having a job means having certain benefits. The better the job, sometimes comes with better benefits. We definitely like having good insurance, sick days, disability insurance, pay increases throughout the career and etc. These benefits come with full-time jobs where you are committed to working for the long haul. Part-time workers don’t have many, if any benefits. Some employers give part-timers a discount and option of hours, but that’s about it. Living for God comes with excellent benefits for life! But this life comes with total surrender and faith and trust in God who controls the life. “Forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles” (Psalm 103:2-5). This life is made complete by accepting the benefits God provides. Even when life seems daunting and dim, like the disciples faced, they continued to be filled with great joy because the benefits of God are within and no one is able to take them away. Accepting God’s benefits will create the best life possible! It makes the life journey bearable.
